The Business-Driven PMO is a blog under the Daptiv company website headed up company executive Dave Blumhorst.
Dave started B-D PMO in 2010 and maintains a regular weekly update to the blog, turning to a wealth of contributors combining long- and short-form blogging with insight and analysis into the ever-evoling nature of project management office in the modern business world.
“I started the blog to share practical advice/counsel to project managers/executives and CIOs about practical advice on how PMOs can more effectively support, prioritize and fund strategic business initiatives,” Dave told us. “The blog features stories from the trenches and practical advice on how PMOs can more effectively support, prioritize and fund strategic business initiatives.
“The main theme is sharing real-world knowledge and advice that can be easily and quickly implemented. Sharing success stories as well as lessons learned and hearing from PMOs about how they’re evolving in today’s economy.”
The Business-Driven PMO features posts from all walks of Daptiv, including CEO John Baldwin, as well as Dave, Ian Knox, Alan Shefveland, Satish Kumar and Claire Schwartz. Dave can back up heading the blog as a seasoned executive that has run IT, professional services, and finance departments. His career has seen David in roles as a CFO, a CIO at mid-sized Clarent, and the Senior Director of the IT-PMO at PeopleSoft. Throughout his 30+ year career, Dave says he has always found innovative ways to use technology to create business value.
