The Critical Chain

The Critical Chain by Dina Garfinkel is a blog from a veteran web developer of just over a decade that moved into project management in 2004.

“I learned over the next four years through trial by fire and learned a huge amount,” Dina says. “In January of 2008 I went for my PMP and getting it made me realize that there was so much out there that I wanted to learn more about. (I’ve) been reading lots on papers and online since then, and find myself making parallels between project management topics and day-to-day life (especially as a parent).”

Dina uses The Critical Chain to compare and contrast the parallels between parenting and project management, using it in a manner that takes The Critical Chain to project people who can just as easily sense and spot the everyday life comparisons as well.

“I really enjoy being a part of the community of project management bloggers, and project managers on Twitter,” Dina says. ” Since I’ve only worked in small agencies since I started as a PM, this is the professional network that I’ve always been looking for.”

Dina is a fan of LiquidPlanner, and says that in addition to blogging about parallels between parenting and project management, often finds herself comparing project management tools.

Dina says the most popular post since The Critical Chain’s June 2008 premiere was a comparison of two webased PM tools:

A tale of two…web based project management tools

Dina has three posts she can classify as her favourites at The Critical Chain:
