Dr. John A. Estrella’s Blog
Dr. John A. Estrella’s Blog premiered in March 2009 as a quick-hitting blog for the project management Twitter-verse, only if the characters were instead words.
“I give practical project management advice in 140 words or less,” he says. “Topics include low-level topics such as three-point estimating to high-level topics such as enterprise project management.”
John holds qualifications as a CMC, PMP, CBAP, CTFL and CSTE. He specializes in helping senior management deliver large and complex IT projects. John worked on various consulting engagements for some of the world’s most respected organizations in Asia, North America and Europe. Additionally, John serves as a motivational speaker through personal experiences, example and recommendation. The quick hit tidbits from each of his blog’s posts (which, schedule permitting, are added once each week) endeavour to reach out to project managers through personal experience and expertise.
“I blog to share my expertise in project management,” he says. “Most of my blogs are prompted by actual experiences that I encounter on a day-to-day basis such poor communication within a project, lack of certainty in a project sponsor’s directive, or an intriguing project management topic.”
John says the most popular blog post revolved around soliciting the tips of fellow project managers for a first-hand written body of knowledge guidebook:
