The Critical Path, by Derek Huether is a project management leadership blog for both up-and-coming Project Managers and established Project Managers. Derek started Critical Path back in 2008 because he wanted to share his thoughts with a wider audience but felt that writing a book would take too long and be too tedious a process.
Derek is a motivated project leader who inspires and empowers project teams and uses the Critical Path as a place to share his passion about PPM topics and feels he just “needs” to blog. “I guess it’s kind of cathartic. I love getting feedback from others.” He has 15 years in the project management industry with a focus on application development and “believes in people, not in certifications or diplomas.”
“In this age of cast-in-stone processes and rigid methodologies, finding someone who constantly challenges “what’s right” is increasingly becoming a rare commodity. Reading my blog, you’ll find my own points of view tempered with those of other professionals in the project management field, making for a healthy balance.”
Derek blogs almost everyday on matters concerning PMP, Agile and Kanban alongside other current PPM topics like soft skills and his most popular post, social networking;
Derek’s personal favourites from the Critical Path include;
- To PMP or not to PMP That is the question
- The Impact Of Social Networking On Project Management
- My Big Fat Greek Project
The Critical Path also hosts a regular feature; monthly updates on the numbers of new PMI PMPs, the year to date totals and the overall number of active PMPs. You can reach the Critical Path blogger on Twitter @derekhuether
