Alec Satin on People, Projects and Processes

Alec Satin on People, Projects and Process premiered in January 2008 under Satin’s direction as a medium for the veteran project manager and organisational expert to connect with fellow project managers with tips and advice.

Alec is a trained therapist, entrepreneur and Information Technology professional, saying that he seeks to infuse environments with order, process and sanity. Primum non nocere (“First do no harm”) is Alec’s guiding principle. And to find inspiration in his blogging, Alec has already displayed a willingness to go to opposite ends of the spectrum for People, Projects and Process: He lists as his heroes religious scholar Karen Armstrong and Pulp Fiction problem solver Winston Wolf.

“I started People, Projects and Process to provide useful information for both new and experienced project managers ‘in the field’ which would allow them to be more effective with less strain,” he says. “It’s all about providing common sense tips and thoughts on the people side of project management.”

People, Projects and Process features a new post every few weeks for an audience Alec describes as working information technology project managers. With 20 years of experience across IT and project management, coupled with his Masters Degree in Social Work, Alec’s work eases the strain of his audience handily.

Alec says the most widely read post at People, Projects and Process involves a long list of handy PM tips:

His three favourite posts also feature a couple of lists and another on mentoring:

Thanks for profiling my blog on your site. My desire truly is to provide a valuable “common sense” service to working project managers in the field.

    Wish you well,
    Alec
